Drive A releases new album ‘The World in Shambles’ on BitTorrent
2011/08/18

Uncompromising and disciplined. Old school punk with a fresh sound, dirty guitar riffs with a catchy hook. That’s how the band Drive A describes their music and the way they approach their image as an up and coming punk rock band of this generation.

And now, after having crisscrossed the United States and Canada for the past year on tour with the likes of Bullet For My Valentine, Escape The Fate, The Used, and Hollywood Undead; Drive A are ecstatic to make their new album ‘The World in Shambles’, a follow up to their 2009 critically acclaimed debut, available to the world through BitTorrent.

Drive A Singer/guitarist Bruno Mascolo said, “We’re an independent band without a major label machine behind us and we approach our music with a different philosophy. Along with traditional physical and digital retail outlets, BitTorrent helps us accomplish our goals of getting our music out to a worldwide audience.”

The Drive A app, complete with the new album ‘The World in Shambles’ is now live in the app studio. You can download the album here and check out the app in the App Studio for information, tour dates and updates.

‘The World in Shambles’ is an amazing album for anyone who is a fan of raw punk and rock n roll.  “We wanted to make something that was raw, and that sounded like our band when we played live,” said Bruno Mascolo. “Songwriting is the essence of the band but playing live is how we truly connect with people. With that in mind we recorded ‘The World in Shambles’ completely live, there were no click tracks, so what you hear is what we sound like. It was about capturing the energy and not trying to achieve perfection.” With fans and followers increasing exponentially, it looks like their back-to-what-matters approach to recording is working.

You can catch Drive A on the Rock Allegiance tour this Fall with Buck Cherry, Papa Roach, and P.O.D., at The Rock on the Range Festival in Canada with Sum 41 and Anberlin, and the Epicenter Festival in southern California with Limp Bizkit. A few of their tour dates are listed below and you can get a full listing of their tour dates here. If they are in your area make sure to check them out live. Their roots in old school punk rock with fresh sounds, dirty guitar riffs and catchy hooks – prove the live show is not one to miss.
